BAYTOWN, Texas – The driver of a Tesla Cybertruck dies after the vehicle catches fire following a crash on the side of a road in Baytown on Monday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash was reported at 1:45 a.m. in the 7003 block of Fisher Road.

DPS said the Cybertruck was traveling on West Cedar Parkway, just west of the intersection of Fisher Road and Cedar Port Parkway.

Officials said the Cybertruck left the north side of the road and struck a large concrete culvert.

The Cybertruck reportedly became engulfed in flames. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was inside the vehicle.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. The driver’s identity has not been released.
