HOUSTON – Authorities are searching for a man’s killer after he crashed his vehicle into a fence a couple of miles away from where he was shot in east Houston.

It happened just before 10 p.m. when Lt. Horelica with the Houston Police Department said an unidentified man was found inside his crashed-out vehicle in the 6100 block of E Mt. Houston near Homestead. Preliminary details are the man was shot a couple of miles away on Lera St. where at least 15 shots were fired and several shell casings were found.

Shortly after the man was shot, Lt. Horelica said, he crashed his vehicle into a fence.

At last check, police did not have a motive for the shooting or an idea of who the gunman was, but were asking for the public’s help if they had any information to contact HPD’s homicide division or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
