The charges came after authorities said an internal investigation was conducted, revealing that Aguirre had been opening mail and removing items, including cash and gift cards worth at least $2,500.
Aguirre pleaded guilty to the charges and will be sentenced on Nov. 1. She faces up to five years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
