In three out of 19 total 911 calls on the day of the Uvalde Robb Elementary School mass shooting, the shooter’s uncle begs to speak with his nephew.

KPRC 2 has obtained a set of redacted records released by the Uvalde District Attorney’s Office, following a lawsuit involving Graham Media Group, the station’s parent company.

The legal action aims to secure the release of public records related to the Uvalde tragedy, advocating for transparency and public access to information.

In what appears to be the first call to Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office, Armando Ramos, said “I was wondering maybe he could listen to me, because he does listen to me.”

Ramos tells the dispatcher he was with his nephew the night before the school shooting and told dispatcher his behavior wasn’t different.

“Did he say anything to you?” the dispatcher asked. “Has he—did you know of any changes in his behavior over the last couple of days?”

“No, no, no nothing,” Ramos responded. “Nothing.”

The dispatcher puts Ramos on hold while he talks to someone in the room and on another phone.

While talking to someone with him, Ramos is heard on the call telling them, “I think he’s shooting kids.”

In another call to the sheriff’s office timed at 1:17, Ramos asks the dispatcher if he could go towards the school. The dispatcher tells him they will have an officer visit his home.

16 minutes later, Ramos calls again.

“Ma’am, it’s me, Armando Ramos. Please, ma’am, the cops haven’t came. Can I please go over to them?” Ramos asks the dispatcher.

“No sir,” the dispatcher tells him. “I’m going to have an officer head out to you shortly. I just need you to please be patient with me.”

Ramos is heard, again, begging with dispatch, “I don’t want him to do anything [inaudible] to the kids or anybody,” Ramos said.

The call ends.
