Search continues for gunman accused of killing man in front of pregnant wife in southeast Houston

HOUSTON – A family in Southeast Houston is pleading for justice after their loved one, 37-year-old Osvaldo Casas, was shot and killed just outside his home Saturday morning.

It happened near the intersection of Loper and Vinett Street.

The person or person’s responsible are yet to be found.

Judith Molina says she was inside their home when she heard about five to six gunshots.

The pregnant mother of two came out in a hurry, saw her husband collapse and tried to perform CPR. She was unable to keep him alive.

A cross is now in the very spot where she held him last. Family members also put up a memorial. They add to it any chance they get.

Molina, who is eight months pregnant, is now left to raise their two daughters and their soon to be born baby boy alone.

She told KPRC 2 her husband was a good father who provided for his family.

She said he was outside that night because he got a call from a neighbor about a suspicious vehicle, possibly a black SUV.

They believe it may have been the same person that vandalized their car the night before. Molina was shot when he went out to check.

The Houston Police Department is investigating the possibility that the two cases may be related.

Molina is asking for people who may know anything to come forward.

“Don’t be afraid,” she said.

Police are unable to release any suspect description at this time.

If you do have any information you are asked to call the Houston Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
