Police haven’t said whether the body was that of a man or a woman, but did say the body had a gunshot wound.

HPD’s Homicide Division is investigating the case and are trying to figure out where and when the body was put in the trash.

This is the second instance of a body being found in either a trash bin or garbage truck in the Houston area Wednesday. Wednesday morning, authorities in northwest Harris County said workers in a waste collection truck discovered the body of a newborn baby boy inside of a trash bin in the 13200 block of Fountain Crest Drive.
