HOUSTON – It’s almost National Thrift Store Day!

KPRC 2′s Moriah Ballard took a trip through a few popular thrift stores in our area to check out the different finds.

First up, we went to Buffalo Exchange and chatted with the store’s manager, Tanya Ward.

Also, Buffalo Exchange will be having an event for students around the Houston area on Saturday, August 24. Students will be able to shop with a 15% discount. To get the deal, just show your school ID at checkout. You can also enter the raffle for your chance to win limited-edition Buffalo swag and a $25 BE gift card.

Next, we stopped by Blue Bird Circle to chat with the President, Annette Griffith, and talk about why thrifting is both fun and helpful for the community.

The Blue Bird Circle is a high-end resale store in the Montrose area that features luxury clothing, one-of-a-kind antiques, and state-of-the-art home furniture. And it’s all for a good cause.

All proceeds from the resale store aid in funding critical research that helps children with neurological disorders.

According to Griffith, when one of your consigned items sells, you will get 60% of the sale price back. The remaining 40% goes to support pediatric neurology research and treatment.
