HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department will host its 3rd annual Youth Fashion Show Fundraiser this weekend, a highly anticipated event that raises crucial funds for HPD’s youth programs.
“This gets the community involved, letting the youth know, ‘Hey, they care about us, the police care about us, the community cares about us. We can all come together, shape, and build on these young minds because they are the leaders of the future,’” said Treva Mott, senior Houston police officer and organizer of the show.
Attendees can look forward to seeing HPD officers take to the catwalk, showcasing fashions from local designers.
Andrew Drayton, fashion designer of Drayton Couture, says the show is sure to have a few surprises for attendees who aren’t used to seeing police officers out of uniform.
“I would definitely say you’re in for a real treat, so come out,” Drayton said.
Organizers say the event plays a pivotal role in providing resources and opportunities for young people in the Houston community, empowering them through various programs offered by HPD.
Tickets for the event are still available at $25 each. You can purchase them and learn more about HPD’s youth programs on the HPD website.
