Preliminary reports indicate that the incident stemmed from a domestic violence altercation inside a nearby nightclub. Security staff at the venue managed to break up the dispute, but as the suspect left the establishment, he allegedly began driving erratically, striking multiple vehicles. The suspect then reportedly attempted to intentionally hit his significant other with the vehicle but missed, tragically striking a bystander instead.
The victim, a woman who was the manager of one of the nightclubs in the area and was on her way home, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Houston Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this fatal hit-and-run.
