Lawn crew finds body of newborn baby in ditch in front of Aldine-area concrete plant

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Authorities are investigating after the body of a newborn baby was found in front of a concrete industrial plant in Harris County.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted on X that the infant was discovered in front of the plant in the 15000 block of Henry Road in the Aldine area.

Maj. John Nanny with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office says they received the call about the infant around 2 p.m.

Nanny said the infant was found in a ditch by a lawn crew working in the area.

The infant was partially clothed and laying on a blanket in the ditch, according to Nanny.

Right now, Nanny says they don’t have a lot of information to go off of. Authorities are waiting for the medical examiner to arrive so they can try and get more information about how the baby died.

Nanny also reminded people that there are options available should a parent be unable to care for a child.

“There has been a few of these happen recently so I would like to mention the (Baby) Moses Law,” Nanny said.

Anyone with any information is urged to call Crime Stoppers or the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-221-6000.

This story will be updated with any new information we receive.
