8-year-old boy with autism reported missing in Richmond found dead in lake

An 8-year-old boy from Richmond reported missing by the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office has been found dead, authorities confirmed Sunday.

Ryan Akagbusi, who is autistic and nonverbal, was last seen at around 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 24.

He went missing from the 19900 block of Kendall Lake Drive in Richmond. After a lengthy search that led into Sunday morning, FBCSO said Texas Equusearch found Ryan “in the lake near his last known location.” He tragically did not survive, authorities confirmed in a phone call with KPRC 2.
