Deputies called to crash scene in west Harris Co., find man shot to death

HOUSTON – Investigators in west Houston were called to a crash scene late Saturday night but found a man shot to death instead.

It happened around 11:40 p.m. when deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office were called to Cozumel Apartments on Sierra Blanca off Westpark Tollway.

The initial call to their dispatch was for an auto-pedestrian accident but when officers arrived, found an unidentified man in his 40s with gunshot wounds.

It’s unclear what led up to the shooting, but witnesses reported seeing two men running from the car he was in shortly after he was shot.

Deputies are not sure if the man shot is a resident of the apartment complex, and are asking people with any information to call HCSO at 713-274-9100 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS
