Commander J. Dale with the Houston Police Department said it happened around 9:30 on Chimney Rock and Gulfton. Based on their initial investigation, he said it all started when three men were asking people for $20 at a food truck.
An unidentified man, police described as the victim, said he would get $20 and went to the apartments nearby. He returned with a gun and pointed it at the three men but did not shoot. Those three men, however, did shoot him and died at the scene.
Police say the gunmen ran away from the scene, jumped into a car, and were seen heading west on Elm St.
