WANTED: Gunman accused of punching man in SW Houston before stealing his wallet at gunpoint

The Houston Police Department is seeking information on a man who robbed a driver at gunpoint following a traffic incident.

It happened on May 4 at around 8 p.m., when police say the victim was driving near the 15600 block of S. Post Oak. That’s when a black Buick Lacrosse backed into his vehicle at an intersection.

The victim followed the Buick into a nearby parking lot, where an unidentified man got out of the car demanding money. The man then opened the trunk of his vehicle, showed a gun, and took the victim’s wallet. After punching the victim in the face, police said the attacker fled the scene.

The gunman is described as a man, approximately 5′6″ to 5′7″, aged 35 to 40, wearing a purple jersey, white basketball shorts, black and white sneakers, and has short dreadlocks. The victim was able to take a photo of his attacker shortly after the incident.

Tips that lead to the attacker’s arrest or charges filed may result in a cash reward of up to $5,000.
