Woman killed, man injured in League City shooting; suspect charged

A woman is dead, and a man is injured following a shooting in League City. A man is in custody for his role in the attack.

League City Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in the 1900 block of E Winn Street this morning.

At approximately 9:44 a.m., the LCPD received a call reporting gunshots in the area. Officers arrived at the scene at around 9:49 a.m. and detained a man suspected of the shooting.

Inside the residence, authorities discovered two victims, a woman and a man, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began administering lifesaving measures until EMS personnel from the League City Fire Department arrived.

The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the man was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Michael Collins, 40, was arrested for his involvement in the shooting. He has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon—a charge that carries a $500,000 bond—regarding the man who was injured in the shooting. Additional charges associated with the woman who was killed are pending the results of further investigation.
