A Harris County man is in custody after being arrested on multiple counts of sexual crimes against children. He was busted after he arranged a meet-up with an undercover detective.
35-year-old Hernan Duarte of Harris County has been booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with three counts of sexual assault of a child and one count of indecency with a child. According to Montgomery officials, further charges are pending upon identifying Duarte’s possible additional victims.

Duarte first came on the authorities’ radar after an initial victim was interviewed in Conroe. Further investigation uncovered that he was meeting with juveniles in The Woodlands and across other counties.
Duarte would initiate conversations with young girls on social media and arrange meet-ups where sexual activities took place. Investigators believe that all of his victims were under the age of 15 years old.
He was finally apprehended by authorities after he initiated a meeting at a park in The Woodlands with a detective posing as a minor. When he arrived at the planned location, he was taken into police custody.
