According to KPRC 2 Traffic Anchor Justina Latimer, the crash took place near Beltway 8 but caused chaos on the roadway for miles.

Houston Transtar’s website said that the crash was first reported at 6:04 a.m., and it involved two vehicles at the time.

At 9:40 a.m., the site showed that the left shoulder, right shoulder, left lane, right lane, and two center lanes were closed on the highway.

The traffic jams seemingly started near the Westpark Tollway exit and reached past the Beechnut exit headed southbound. According to iPhone’s Map, the drive, which is typically six minutes long, had nearly quadrupled in time, making it a 25-minute commute.

So far, no deaths or injuries have been reported in the initial crash.

The scene was cleared at 11:04 a.m.
