Fulshear police officer wrangles tiny alligator off front porch of home with his bare hands

FULSHEAR, Texas – He certainly was small, but he was feisty.

A small alligator at their front door prompted a Fulshear family to call for help and Lieutenant Bill Henry with the Fulshear Police Department showed up.

Body cam video from the moment showed the encounter.

The family pointed him to their front porch, where the scaly reptile was, laying by the welcome mat.

One of the residents can be heard asking Henry if he could pick it up.

“I’ve got a pole but this one’s kind of small so I got it,” Henry can be heard saying in the video.

As Henry walked up to the creature, the gator can be heard hissing at the officer.

No match for Henry though. He picked up the reptile with his bare hands.

“Look at you, your a hero,” one of the residents can be heard saying as the officer carried the alligator off to its unknown new home.

After reviewing the body camera video of the capture, the Fulshear Police Department had just one thing to say. “You can take the boy out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the boy,” the department said about Henry on Facebook.
