According to police, the woman was at the home with her boyfriend when her estranged husband arrived and an argument ensued. During the confrontation, shots were fired.
The woman was struck by gunfire and did not survive. Her estranged husband fled the scene before authorities arrived.
The investigation into the death of a woman in her 40s at the residence is ongoing as authorities work to contact her two children. According to officials, violence is uncommon in this community.
Sgt. Miller from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said “This particular neighborhood is an older established neighborhood, probably about 500 homes, somewhat affluent. This type of stuff doesn’t happen over here in this area pretty often. So we kind of believe that this might be an isolated deal. It’s not something that we think that somebody, it was just a random deal.”
Police have not yet released the ex-husband’s name.
This is an active investigation that will be updated as more information becomes available.
