Dylan LeBlanc, 22, has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of Robert Mayes, 19. The incident happened on June 20, 2022, at an apartment complex located at the 14230 block of Wunderlich Dr.

An investigation began after Harris County Precinct 4 deputies responded to a weapons disturbance at the complex around 9 p.m. They discovered evidence of a shooting but no victim at the scene. Shortly afterward, deputies were alerted to an unresponsive man at a nearby Signature Care clinic.

According to Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators, Mayes was an innocent bystander when LeBlanc fired his weapon at another man he was arguing with, accidentally hitting Mayes. Mayes, who was a bystander, was struck by the gunfire and later pronounced dead at a nearby urgent care center.

Mayes, who had multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, was pronounced dead upon arrival.

LeBlanc was arrested without incident by the HCSO Criminal Warrants (VIPER) Division.
