Westbound lanes of US 90 reopen after deadly crash in Sugar Land

SUGAR LAND – A deadly crash on US 90 in Sugar Land this morning left two dead and a third hospitalized and shut down all westbound lanes.

The crash, reported at 3:10 a.m., took place near 9701 US 90.

One of the vehicles involved was a Honda Pilot driving the wrong way in the westbound lanes; it is currently unknown if the driver was under the influence. Another vehicle involved was a Toyota Highlander.

The Sugar Land Police Department and Sugar Land Fire Department responded to reports of a collision involving ejections.

Upon arrival, emergency crews found two people who were immediately pronounced dead at the scene.

A third individual was discovered and transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment.

Authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash and any contributing factors. The roadway has since reopened.

The Sugar Land Police Department identified the people who died after next-of-kin was notified. The driver of the Pilot is identified as Gonzalo Christian Sosa, 41, of Houston.

The driver of the Highlander is identified as Prosper Lusinde Kiswaga, 52, of Richmond.
