Driver killed, thrown from truck after suspected alcohol-related crash in Cypress

CYPRESS, Texas – A man died Tuesday night in what Harris County deputies are investigating as an alcohol-related crash.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. on the Grand Parkway Toll Rd. where responding officers found an unidentified man and his truck in a ditch nearby. Based on the initial signs, investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

They also said the driver lost control of his truck before hitting the median, causing it to flip. The driver was then ejected from his truck and was airlifted to a hospital when emergency crews arrived, but succumbed to his injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
