Details are limited, as it’s an active investigation, but HPD confirmed through a social media post that Fahim Adnan Baqui, a senior criminal intelligence analyst, was arrested by deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday.

Baqui was assigned to the Property & Financial Crimes Division and has been with HPD since July 2019, the department confirmed.

“As standard protocol, he has been relieved of duty, pending an investigation by the Internal Affairs Division,” HPD added in its statement on social media. “HPD holds our employees to the highest standards and will take action up to, and including, termination.”

KPRC 2 has reached out to HCSO for additional details but has not heard back, as of this writing.
