17-year-old girl who went missing after leaving Angleton school found safe

ANGLETON, Texas – A 17-year-old girl from Angleton has been found safe after authorities say she left school Tuesday morning and didn’t return home.

Ava Phillips was last seen leaving Angleton High School around 10 a.m. and did not return home. Her car was found in the school parking lot, with all of her personal belongings, including her phone, keys, and backpack, left inside.

She was seen getting into a white car.

Wednesday evening, the Angleton Police Department said Phillips was found and is safe. She has since been reunited with her family.

The department offered no details as to how she was found.
