Family, friends, law enforcement gather at funeral for fallen Harris County Pct. 4 Corporal Maher Husseini

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Family, friends and local law enforcement gathered Thursday afternoon to remember the life fallen Harris County Pct. 4 Corporal Maher Husseini.

The funeral was held at Masjid Al Salam, located at 16700 Old Louetta Road, at 1:45 p.m.

The service was open to the public and many from the community showed up to support.

What happened

Husseini was shot to death on Tuesday. He was sitting at a stoplight Tuesday at the intersection of Richmond Ave. and Fondren Rd. in his personal vehicle on his way to work when a gunman got out of his car, walked up, and began shooting into his SUV.

Husseini was taken to Ben Taub Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His accused killer, Athir Murady, has been charged with murder and currently booked into Galveston County Jail.
