HOUSTON – A Hardin ISD teacher is behind bars in Polk County after investigators say he’s accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Details were shared by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, which said Jahmall Le’Sean Thomas, 39, of Dayton, was arrested after an investigation was launched back in late August.

Officials said Thomas was a teacher at Hardin ISD and was involved in a relationship with a female student at a Polk County School District. Detectives also said in their investigation they found the female student “allowed him to pick her up and go to a location in Polk County, where he performed sexual acts to her in the back of his vehicle before returning her to her home.”

Thomas was taken into custody on Sept. 3 and booked in the Polk County Jail on a $75,000 bond. Investigators say Hardin ISD was notified of Thomas’ arrest and has since been placed on administrative leave.
