It happened around 1:30 a.m., according to the Houston Police Department, at the Homestead Food Mart located on Homestead and Tidwell. Investigators are told a customer, an unidentified man in his 20s, was in the back aisle when a masked gunman walked in and shot him several times.

The shooter then ran away, police said, as there was no vehicle description provided by witnesses. Meanwhile, the victim was rushed to a hospital in serious condition.

Police are unsure what the motive behind the shooting is, but say it was clearly a targeted attack as the gunman focused solely on the victim.

If anyone has any information on what happened or the shooter’s identity, they’re asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
