HOUSTON, Texas – An investigation is underway at an apartment complex in southwest Houston after a woman was shot multiple times and a child was injured in what police are calling a domestic dispute.
Houston police responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment building located at 5401 Rampart around 3:30 a.m.
Investigators said when they arrived, they learned a woman had been shot in both of her legs and chest and a 4-year-old child was grazed by a bullet.
Witnesses said they heard yelling and shouting before the shooting. Investigators say the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute between a man and the woman shot.
The woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition and the child was treated for a minor injury. The suspected shooter was also arrested.
