Person of interest charged after man tried to lure Sugar Land teenage girl into car

SUGAR LAND, Texas – Charges have been filed on a person of interest following reports of a man trying to lure a teenage girl into his vehicle after she got off a school bus in Sugar Land.

The Sugar Land Police Department said it happened on Sept. 3 on Bournewood Dr. near Ashwood at 3:20 p.m.

Police said the girl had just gotten off the school bus when the man, described as Hispanic and in his 20s with dark, curly hair, drove up in a black Chevrolet Traverse and tried to lure the girl into the car.

On Monday, Sugar Land police say they have filed charges of enticing a child on the person of interest but would not release his name until the charges are accepted by the District Attorney’s Office.

The department posted a video on the incident.
