Cleveland ISD has confirmed that a shooting threat at Cleveland Middle School was investigated and found to be foundationless, though an arrest was made as a precaution.
The arrest was confirmed following an investigation into a shooting threat made against CMS on Sept. 9.

According to Cleveland ISD officials, the threat was determined to be unsubstantiated, but one person involved was arrested as a precautionary measure. In response to the situation, the district announced an increased presence of law enforcement at the CMS campus throughout the day to ensure student and staff safety.
In a statement posted to social media, Cleveland ISD assured parents and the community that their priority remains the safety of everyone on campus.
“CMS will have an increased presence of law enforcement on campus today,” the district stated.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, and no additional details about the individual arrested have been released at this time.
