The winning numbers were 1, 2, 16, 24, and 66, with the gold Mega Ball 6. This winning combination gives the lucky player the option of either taking the full jackpot amount or a lump sum cash option of $404.2 million. According to Mega Millions, this is the seventh-largest jackpot in the game’s history, and the third won this year.
“It’s great news, it’s an exciting time for sure,” an employee at Murphy USA told KPRC 2′s Kait Catuiza over the phone. “We get over 100 customers per day who come to buy a lottery ticket here.”
