Cy-Fair ISD teen arrested for snatching $4K watch from seller he met on Facebook Marketplace

HOUSTON – Officials have a teenager behind bars after Cy-Fair ISD police helped track him down for stealing a watch from a seller he met on Facebook Marketplace.

According to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman, investigators were called to reports of an aggravated robbery at a Walmart on Northwest Freeway back on September 2. The seller told deputy constables he agreed to meet with 18-year-old Hassan Mohamed, who he met via Facebook Marketplace, to sell him a $4,000 watch.

The seller told investigators Mohamed showed him a gun and snatched the watch from his hand before taking off in a black car. Constable deputies were able to share the 18-year-old’s photo with the Cy-Fair ISD Police Department and identify him.

An arrest warrant was issued for Hassan and he was taken into custody Wednesday. He is currently facing charges for Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon and booked in the Harris County Jail on a $35,000 bond.
