HOUSTON – Investigators need your help finding two men caught on camera snatching an envelope containing a “large sum of cash” from an 80-year-old in southwest Houston.

It all happened back on July 12 around 5 p.m. when the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division said the unidentified 80-year-old woman was using a crypto kiosk at a convenience store off Fannin Street in Midtown.
Surveillance video shows two men talking with the woman’s back toward them and one of them snatching the envelope. The woman tried to stop them but the footage stops there. Police said the two men took off in a black car.
Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to charges and/or arresting the attackers in this case by calling 713-222-TIPS (8477) or going online.
According to investigators, in the days leading to the incident, the unidentified woman received a phone call from a scammer who talked her into making several deposits into the Bitcoin kiosk. Police are expected to share details on the investigation in a news conference Thursday at 10 a.m.
