HOUSTON – This week’s KPRC 2 UTMB Athlete of the Week goes to Lutheran South’s Aniston Collins.
After the Pioneers lost key seniors last year, the junior has stepped up for LSA both on and off the court.
“She’s really turned into a leader. She’s a calming presence and we can trust her to make good decisions,” head coach Geoff Stressman said. “She’s really taken over that vocal leadership.”

“We lost one of our big leaders last year, so just stepping up into that and bringing this team together,” Collins said.
Collins has also been a key cog to a strong 17-5 start by Lutheran South.
“She’s consistent,” Stressman added. “She has a high volleyball IQ. She does a great job of knowing where to go and being there.”
Fortunately for Stressman, she’s only a junior and he’ll have an opportunity to coach her at least one more season. Congrats to Aniston!
