As the story goes, a black and white dog was left alone at the ferry landing in Port Bolivar. Every morning, the dog would go to the ferry landing at sunrise and wait for its owner. The people of Port Bolivar became familiar with the dog and gave him food, water and pets.

One evening around sunset, the legend says the dog walked out into the ocean, hoping to find his true owners. As he paddled through the water, he was greeted by dolphins who swam alongside him.

The dog began to grow tired as he trudged through the waves, but the dolphins provided him with support. Just when he thought he couldn’t keep going, fishermen on a nearby boat spotted the dog swimming with the dolphins.

They quickly pulled the dog onto the vessel and brought him to Tiki Island. After giving him food, water and warm blanket, the fishermen committed to looking after the rescued pup.

They decided to keep the dog, naming him Bolivar. He stayed with them on Tiki Island, accompanying them on their boat every morning and enjoying the views of the sea.

That’s the story of Bolivar, the courageous pup of the port!
