SPRING, Texas – A gun was found at a Spring Independent School District high school Wednesday morning, according to an email sent to parents.
Officials received a tip that a weapon was bought to Spring High School and found in the theater.

Spring ISD police responded and safely retrieved the gun. The student involved has been identified, detained and will face disciplinary and criminal charges, according to the school.
An investigation has been launched into how the gun got on campus.
This is the third incident that reported Wednesday at a Houston area high school.
An Alief Independent School District high school was temporarily placed on lockdown after a student brought a kitchen knife to school.

In another incident, a Houston Independent School District was also placed on lockdown after a student was stabbed during a fight with another student.
