Bellaire High School has been placed in secure mode after a bomb threat was made during the school day Wednesday.
In an email to parents, Bellaire principal Michael Niggli said the secure mode status was enacted at around 12:15 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, when officials were made aware of a bomb threat made against the school.

During a secure mode distinction, classes proceed as usual, but students are not allowed to leave their classrooms or move around the school.
Last month, two students were detained after a weapon was brought to campus grounds.
“We assure you that we take all threats seriously as the safety of our students and staff is always our top priority,” the email sent by Niggli said.
This is the fourth incident at a Houston-area high school campus today.
