The City of Deer Park also confirmed the fire had been extinguished Thursday evening.

The fire started Monday morning after a vehicle drove through a fence and struck a valve that caused the massive explosion and fire.

The fire caused serious damage throughout the Deer Park community. The flames were so intense that they melted the shingles off of nearby roofs and the plastic off of people’s cars.

Human remains were found in the car that was responsible for causing the explosion, and a criminal investigation is underway to determine who the driver was and how such a catastrophic incident ever unfolded.
