Student charged in Sterling HS stabbing showed no remorse

HOUSTON – The 17-year-old Houston ISD student accused of stabbing a 16-year-old student during a fight at Sterling High School Wednesday is now charged.

Pablo Castaneda, 17, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony.

According to court documents, Castaneda tried to hit the 16-year-old student but missed. The student then hit him, and a fight broke out between the two.

During the fight, the court documents show Castaneda pulled out a pocketknife and stabbed the student.

The student was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Castaneda was taken into custody.

The documents show when questioned by officers, Castaneda showed no remorse, telling the officers he stabbed the student and would do it again.

Castaneda is in the Harris County Jail with a $100,000 bond.
