A former Pasadena ISD student is facing a felony terroristic threat charge after he allegedly threatened to shoot up Thompson Intermediate School in a post on Instagram.

Micah Love, 20, has not yet been arrested.

According to charging documents, a school employee who monitored Thompson’s Instagram account saw a message in August with screenshots of a deleted post, which showed an image of the school with the threats written as a caption.

“im just letting it be known in shooting up the school tomorrow for yall safety do not go [sic],” the caption read, according to records.

With help from the FBI’s Threat Mitigation Team, investigators obtained a grand jury subpoena to get details about the Instagram account that made the post. The account “appeared to repost a threat” on Aug. 28.

The FBI found that Comcast shared information on the shooting threat with the school the day after it was made, including Love’s identifying information and address.

The user of the Instagram account revealed a juvenile currently enrolled at the school, investigators said in charging documents, but the juvenile said she was Love’s cousin. It’s not clear if the juvenile faced any criminal charge.

When investigators went to Love’s mother’s apartment based on information from the FBI and Comcast, they interviewed him, and he denied having any knowledge of the threatening post.

Love told investigators he “had a kid on the way and didn’t have time for games with little kids,” and when they showed him a picture of the post, he started to laugh.

Investigators claim Love then said if he did any “time” for this, there were going to be problems, and he would sue the department.

Records from Meta pointed to Love’s Instagram account and the post being made from his mother’s apartment, according to records, and Harris County prosecutors accepted the felony charge.

KPRC 2 reached out to Pasadena ISD for comment on this case.

The district provided us with the following statement:

“Our goals at Pasadena ISD include that all students will learn in a safe environment.  In recent years social media threats have been a problem for districts across the county, state, and nation. Pasadena ISD has not been immune to that. Pasadena ISD Police will thoroughly investigate all threats as valid until proven otherwise.  Any arrests made on any social media threat case will be handled according to the Texas Penal Code and Pasadena ISD Board Policy.”

This comes after a week of threats and violence at schools across the Houston area, in which law enforcement has warned of serious consequences.
