HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says a dive team has recovered a man’s body after he drowned in the San Jacinto River.
The @HCSOTexas Dive Team is responding to the 1900 blk of Gulf Pump Rd (Crosby). Preliminary: an adult male (approx 25) and two females were in water. The sheriff’s office said it happened in the 1900 block of Gulf Pump Road in the Crosby area. The sheriff’s office said this is at the Xtreme Off-Road Park.
Authorities say the man, believed to be approximately 25-years-old, had gone out into the water to help two women who were struggling and beginning to go underwater. He was able to help them, but then he went underwater and never resurfaced.
The sheriff’s office said the two women were able to make it out of the water.

Around 7:15 p.m. Sunday, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said dive teams had recovered the man’s body from the river.
