Lone Star College University Park briefly locked down after road rage incident near campus

Gunfire from a road rage altercation near Lone Star College’s University Park campus triggered a brief lockdown, with both drivers now in custody.

At 12:27 p.m., Lone Star College Dispatch received a call reporting an altercation between two drivers that escalated into gunfire, prompting the Harris County Sheriff’s Office to assist campus police.

No one was struck by the gunfire, but the road rage incident resulted in both drivers being detained for questioning.

As a precaution, LSC locked down the University Park campus and the system office. After an investigation, no further threats were found, and the lockdown was lifted.

Both locations have since resumed normal operations.

Authorities continue to investigate the situation, but no further details have been released at this time.
