Man dies after being struck by train in Houston’s Fifth Ward

HOUSTON – A man is dead after he was struck by a train Monday morning in Houston’s Fifth Ward, according to the Houston Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of a body being found on Union Pacific property at 11:25 a.m. at 4201 Lyons Avenue.

Police said it appears that the person had been hit by a train. Investigators said the cause of death does not appear to be suspicious so homicide detectives did not respond to the scene.

An investigation is underway to determine what happened.
