Over 50 Houston high school girls to learn how United Airlines is breaking barriers in the aviation field

With increased efforts to inspire little girls to follow their dreams, United Airlines says it hopes to encourage over 50 Houston teenage girls to experience the aviation field and consider its benefits as a future career.

United Airlines said it will host 50 high school-aged girls from Houston ISD and Sterling Aviation High School. The event will be held on Wednesday, September 25 at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

The event will be part of ‘Girls in Aviation Day,” a worldwide effort to educate and introduce young women to the aviation industry, United Airlines says it will feature interactive sessions and informative panel discussions with leaders and frontline employees. The young women will also have a formal tour of the airport and aircraft.

United says it hopes this event will close the gender gap by breaking down barriers and promoting inclusion to young women. Among the attendees also include Houston Dash soccer players for an enriching lunch!
