A defense attorney in Houston has been charged in connection with several serious crimes.
On Aug. 26, Harris County Sheriff’s Office announced that defense attorney Jason Johnson, 42, had been arrested after being accused of delivering synthetic marijuana to a defendant at the Harris County Criminal Justice Center.

Officials say he delivered sheets laced with synthetic marijuana to a client who was incarcerated in Harris County Jail. They believe he made the delivery while visiting with the client during a court hearing on Aug. 5.
He was charged with possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility and engaging in organized crime—both of which are felonies.
Nearly a month after his arrest, Johnson’s legal situation went from bad to worse when a follow-up investigation prompted additional charges, this time for possession of child sex abuse material.

Johnson was also charged with eight counts of possession of child pornography.
