On Sept. 24 around 10:39 a.m., League City Police Department responded to a request for assistance from the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy investigator was attempting to serve a writ of possession at a home in the 100 block of Crescent Bay Drive, where the Mccoy’s were being evicted.

Upon arrival, officers tried to make contact with the McCoys but received no response.

After entering the home, they found Susan lying on the bedroom floor with fatal injuries.

Charles was also found on the floor with self-inflicted injuries but was still alive. He was treated at the scene by officers before being transported to a nearby hospital by LCFD personnel.

Following an investigation by LCPD detectives and the Crime Scene Unit, the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office charged Charles with murder.

His bond has been set at $150,000.
