$5,000 reward offered for arrest of Houston child sex offender

The Houston Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a dangerous sex offender who has been on the run for over two years.

The HPD’s Special Victims Division and Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Jose Duarte, a suspect wanted for indecency with a child (sexual contact).

A report of child abuse was filed on June 28, 2022, stemming from an incident that happened in the 300 block of Lindale St. in Houston.

The investigation revealed that Duarte engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with the child victim.

Duarte is 42 years old, with brown eyes and black hair.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and charging of Duarte.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Duarte is urged to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 713-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.crime-stoppers.org, or through the Crime Stoppers mobile app.

Tips submitted directly to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and eligible for the cash reward.
