HOUSTON – An alleged drunk driver hit and killed a woman in southeast Houston, police said.
Investigators said a driver crashed into another car on Scott Street near I-45 just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police said the car kept going and ran over a woman who was lying on the sidewalk.
Both drivers stayed on the scene to help with the investigation.
Police said the driver who hit and killed the woman appeared to be intoxicated and was taken into custody.
“We have our DWI units here on scene doing their investigation to determine if the person was under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” said Sgt. Ramirez with the Houston Police Department.
Investigators were waiting for toxicology results.
