PHOTOS: Houston SPCA removes more than 800 animals from Galveston County pet store

In collaboration with the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, Houston SPCA investigators served an animal seizure warrant that resulted in more than 800 animals being rescued and relocated.

The warrant was served at The List Pet Store, located near the 14000 block of Hwy 6 in Santa Fe, Texas. At around 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning, investigators removed the animals from the establishment. Animals seized included dogs, cats, snakes, fish, turtles, rodents, lizards, hedgehogs, turtles, ducks, chickens, tortoises and even peacocks.

The warrant was part of an ongoing investigation. GCSO officials confirmed that no charges have been filed at this time, but they didn’t provide further details.
