Bystander intervenes, shoots and kills man fighting with ex-girlfriend at N. Harris County apartment complex

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says a man was killed after a bystander intervened while the man was physically fighting with his ex-girlfriend at an North Harris County apartment complex.

It happened at approximately 2:45 a.m. in the 17200 block of Hafer Road.

Deputies arrived at the scene and found a 25-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies spoke to the woman who said she had been in a fight with the man when a bystander intervened and allowed her to use his phone to call 911.

While the woman was on the phone, the victim was shot and the bystander fled the scene.
